Paper Shredding
Papers that contain confidential information such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, medical and banking records should be shred for safety. Cherry Hill City Services offers paper shredding for residential residents on a monthly basis.
This program helps protect communities against identity theft and protects the environment at the same time.
On Saturday, May 21, residents are invited to bring up to four bags or boxes of paper for shredding at the Renaissance Centre parking lot located at 405 S. Broadway.
Residents are asked to bring any unwanted plastic bags, film and wrap. All items should be bagged separately from papers and must be clean, dry and free from food residue. Acceptable plastics include grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes and produce bags.
Electronics Recycling
Electronics recycling has made great strides over the past few years. No longer do you have to go to a special facility to recycle your TV or computer; now manufacturers offer free collection and disposal programs for consumers or small businesses alike.
The most captivating aspect of electronics recycling is that it’s not simply about throwing your old tech away and hoping for the best. Companies like eRevival are leading the charge in ensuring your old electronics are recycled safely and legally, without endangering either the environment or your reputation.
The County has a longstanding tradition of sponsoring paper shredding events, which in the past generated impressive amounts of paper (73,406 pounds to be exact). Unfortunately, it may not always be possible to secure an event near your home; that is where local businesses and municipalities come into play. In the long run, this is an important step towards decreasing our environmental footprint while providing high-quality services to residents.
Garbage Pickup
Cherry Hill City Services provides curbside collection of household trash, recycling and yard waste on designated collection days. To guarantee pickup of all items on these designated days, all items must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00am.
Residents needing to dispose of garbage or recyclables outside their regular collection days should bring these materials to the City’s Solid Waste Transfer Station at 1220 2nd Ave S. Open Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and Saturday-Sunday 7am-12pm, this facility can be reached.

Recycling Programs
Cherry Hill City Services provides a range of recycling programs for its residents. These range from electronic waste collection to clothing recycling.
Camden County municipalities have implemented Single Stream Recycling, which allows all recyclable materials to be placed in one container for pickup. This method of combining paper, cardboard, bottles, cans and plastic is much more efficient than traditional sorting and environmentally friendly.
RecycleBank administers this program, offering large lidded containers to households that are picked up weekly by a computer-equipped truck. The trucks scan an embedded bar code and calculate each container’s weight using computer technology.
Residents of Cherry Hill can earn credits for recycling items that can be redeemed at stores like Ikea and Starbucks. This program is free for residents, saving Cherry Hill money by eliminating landfill fees.
